Video Champ
Here is the latest video of an 809 keycam on my lil' Champ. Winds were 5-8 mph which gave the Champ a little lift. Added soundtrack!
That will be about it unless I take the Champ to a new location...or build my GWS pico Tiger Moth or Stick!![popcorn] |
Moving along!

Leutloffa, you're doing a very difficult thing here, lofting a camera that is half the weight of your plane! Not only is the weight a factor, but on that little thing even the aerodynamic drag is significant. The extra weight may have helped you fly in that wind but the Champ is better in the wind than most other ultra-micros. You'll find the UM T-28 is even better.
Now if I take that same 15 gram camera and stick it to my Slow Stick it makes no difference at all, just about no matter where I put it, even on a wingtip. I dial in a couple clicks of opposite trim and zip! So what you've done here sure has my respect. You're ready to progress! Aside: wonder if I'm crazy enough to try mine on my Vapor.....http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/clueless.gif |
Hey and guess what...the slow stick is in the mail as we speak! Also the pico tiger moth. Will have to wait though on the slow stick to complete as power parts on backorder. Still can't seem to master the T-28 though (micro)...moves too fast for this slow mind to react! Just a matter of time and practice!

The best thing about the UM T-28 is that it slows down really nicely. It is so streamlined that if you're moving fast and back off on the throttle it seems to just maintain its fast airspeed, so climb to scrub off some speed, then proceed at a slower speed. At that speed it has a lot more in common with your Champ and you'll be able to adapt.
Pop her up to treetop height, slow her down and start to enjoy. Keep your control movements tiny and fly by "thought control." You have to turn that corner from anxiety to relaxation before your brain will turn up its learning ability. |
Seems like the aileron's may be out of adjustment. Think I need to crack open the bottom and make adjustments? ( new at this though)

OK...today I adjusted the elevator horns and was able to have a little more height!! Here is the video...
