Spektrum DX5e enters comatose mode. Binding to Ember fixes it?
This is a weird one. Every so often I turn on the DX5e, connect the flight battery in one of my AR6115e equipped planes and it won't bind. Just sits there. Even though it was working great minutes, hours or days ago. Same result for each one I try. Rebinding doesn't work.
The way to fix it, I have found, is to turn off the Tx, plug the flight battery into my old Ember2 (!!) then turn on the DX5e and bind to the Ember (which works every time). Then, unplug the Ember, leave the transmitter on and voila it will bind to all my other planes no problem. The original problem may takes weeks to reappear. What the heck is going on? :blah: Thanks! |
Check the switch. There are a number of reports on bad switches.

Make sure the Tx is not too close to the Rx when you try and connect.

I would call Horizon Hobby support. 1-877-504-0233
They will help. They are great people. Please remember, the transmitter is the master link, you do not bind the transmitter to the receiver, you bind the receivers to the transmitter. The fact that going through the bind procedure, fixes things, leads me to believe there is a bad switch in the transmitter. |
Same here
My Dx5e have same probleme, i return my Rx to horizon hobby, took like 5 week to receive a brand new Rx ar600. About the distance, maby it's right but the dx5e bind well with orange receiver and dosen't bind with Ar600 receiver??? i didn't try to bind from a certain distance.
I didn't try it yet because during this time i buy a Turnigy 9x Tx/Rx, and im realy happy with this combo. Range test on ground: 1000 meters and still good signal inside a car!!! yep it's a good choice |
