I found this to be funny.

I was looking around the interwebs at random electric model aircraft. I found a really cheap one on Overstock.com.

This one star review had me laughing.......

THIS ITEM IS JUNK, DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!! COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY, IT DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY AT ALL, IT STEERED ITSELF INTO A TREE FIRST TIME TRYING TO FLY IT! THE TREE WAS NO WHERE NEAR IN ITS PATH, I WAS ON A BASEBALL FIELD, THE TREE WAS IN THE PARKING LOT. THIS ITEM LASTED 25 SECONDS IN THE AIR, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
  • It steered itself into a tree.:Q
  • I hate it when that happens....

when i first got into rc ,it was a radio shack plane with 2 motors and speed regulated up and down. i loved it and got pretty good at it to cause my addiction.

then i order one of those 2channel warbirds like pictured above with rudder/throttle only...what trash and it came from bannana hobbies....why they or anyone would sell such junk:mad:...the video of one flying looked great and i thought"its big!!48"ws,cool" trashed it throwing it with so many tries it finaly broke.

i then bought the skyfly...that is what really got me hooked...lol:Q.

There's a comedian in UK called Jasper Carrot. He used to do TV shows with hilarious Tv adverts and so on as the subjects.

One show he did highlighted Insurance Claims from around the world and common was the Car Driver who claims the tree hit HIM / HER as it appeared in the road !

What a dummy. He must have forgotten to reverse the "Tree Attraction" channel on the radio. That'll get you every time ;).

I must admit though ... if there is ONE tree near the flight site - someone WILL hit it !

We have a rough field site when we cannot fly at the airport. There's a clump of bushes ... all on its own. Guess what ...... Yep we've all had a go IN it !! My T45 actually sat on top of it one day.

I do like how he says it steered itself into a tree, like there was a little guy in there deciding he was doing his own thing. Course, look how ugly that plane is...no wonder it steered itself into a tree!

I have seen that one on eBAy looks like a Supercub wing on a wanna be P-51 looks like it but just not right.:blah:
Yes it is engineered to steer for trees this way it keeps the manufactures producing these ugly cheap things plus parts if you can find the parts.
Much like the new home appliances made to last so many years then the self destruct feature goes off at a set date.:Q

Every RC flyer should know that trees have a magnetic attraction to balsa and foam.

my little field is a mile across and over the horizon deep, Theres one light-pole,,,,, few have missed it!! my littler field is 3 acres +or- thats tree lined,, I've seen seen trees so brazen as to Reach out and grab passing planes from 20 feet away,,(looked that way anyway),,to a 48" wingspan a flagpole is eight feet wide (think about it,,it's true),,,bubsteve

Us free flight guys learned it first. Magnetic trees have been around for long time.

A small field that I fly at, has a single wire power line on poles, that feeds travel trailer parking sites.

About 2 weeks ago that power line jumped up 10 feet to knock my glider out of the air.

i always found the tree when i was a noob

I have done several indies on wires- too cool- wish it was on purpose

2-channels! Rudder AND throttle! Disconnect the throttle and do some REAL old-time flying...

Yup, we always find a way to blame a hammer for hitting a thumb, a vacuum for sucking up those little parts, lots of inconsiderate machines around alright.

I am flying my Radian today- I will shut throttle off as soon as I get up there and then I am on 2 channels- I know- its cheating as i have the throttle option whenever i need it....:ws::)
