Motor burned up need help

Well my second flight was going good until my E Flite Apprentice wing clipped a branch and nose dived. I was shocked how little damage was done looked like just the cowl and motor mount until.... i tried the motor wheni got home and its fried. My question is if you look at the photo how do i remove the motor from the esc the wires go thru the front of the fuselage and the esc has a white plastic piece holding it in place. Also how do i remove the wires connecting the esc to the motor?

I Would try to pull the esc towards the front until the connectors are visable.

'jam...Yeah, they might be a little tight being new and all, but there is little bullet connectors in between esc and motor just pull towards front, the glue on the little esc "mounting" bracket was easy to break loose and slide forward....
Looking real close....is the blue wire stripped out of the motor?? or what is that shiny spot/tape?? on blue wire right at motor??? might just be me or reflection just looks odd. cr BTW the ol' app goes really good with a 15 size motor, if that one is toast. I put a Cermark Neo-dym 15 in mine couple yrs ago, but yeah headsuprc is real good everything. |
Looks the same to me.
I haven't had much luck fixing pulled out windings. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get solder to stick. Headsuprc has quite a few motors that should be a quick and easy replacement. I've gotten things from florida to utah in 3 days. |
The blue wire had a piece of the shrink tube come off the wire looks good but the motor is shot for sure.

After your crash did you reduce the throttle? If not you may have burned it up because it was still energized.
I also crashed my apprentice and had to place the motor, I believe that I bent the shaft. I replaced it with an E-Flight 15 and it flew a little better. Also check the offset, I had actually mushed the nose a little and had to readjust the down / right offset. Enjoy |

Probably most important when swapping motors, you are going to need a wattmeter.
