Kit for a 370 size motor.
 

I accidentally ordered the wrong motor for a foamie, but being a kit builder I hate to see it go to waste. I don't know a lot about electric planes, but have bee around for awhile. What I'm looking for is a high wing trainer that is 4 channel and has no bad habits. I'm thinking of the Herr Cloud Ranger, but they suggest a 270 size motor?

Tell us a little about the 370 motor you bought,direct drive or geared, the gear ratio if its geared, the KV/RPM per 1 volt, brush or brushless, size, thats important in trying to find a plane for it,

if its a brushless motor, here are some specs that you can use,

also tell us a little about the plane, size, etc, is it this plane, if it is, you will need a 400 size 1000 to 1350KV motor. if your 370 brushless motor is direct drive and is 1000 to 1400kv, it will work, but it will be a little under powered.

that will work, use a 30 amp turnigy ESC, they are bullet proof IMHO :) using a larger esc than what is needed will make the ESC last longer and it will stay cooler, a 1300mah 25c will work great too.

use the XT60 connectors rather than deans, they are easy to take apart and put on, they are rated at 60 amps, and the lipos from HK come with the XT60 connectors, i buy them with the leads already on, so its easy to solder on, no messing with the connector ends, just one wire :) you will need the female and male connectors,

with your 370 motor use a 8x4 or 8x5 prop on 3 cells, no larger than a 8x5 e Prop.

Thanks CHELLIE. Besides using the higher amp ESC, I was pretty close in my guestimation. I had built a Cloud Ranger before with a TT .074? Anyway a little nitro motor, but never flew it. I sold it. I covered it with this.

I did that one and sent it to Chellie. It had a kv rating more in the line of a pusher jet. Thought that was the answer you would give him Chellie. :Q
Good info to look at is a build thread, and hope the person posted detailed info. I'd rather see what exact weight they needed to balance the plane and how it flew, versus a manufacturer's generic spec sizing. The specs on some of the motors out there aren't exactly accurate to begin with, so you're never exactly sure if a motor is the "right" one, even if it claims to be in spec.
