4 motor ugly Stik

3 Attachment(s)
.40-size Easy Stik Series ARF from valuehobby
4 2212 930KV motors 4-20 Amp ESC'S running on a 4000mah 4 cell
with differential thrust using 8x6 apc props

Nice job! Have you had a chance to fly it yet? I bet the four prop resonance will sound cool!

subzJC 01-22-2013 01:53 PM

bhcnomo,

It would be great to see all of the esc's wired and where they are located.

Thanks!

I'd like to get a better idea of the way you mounted the motors. Looks cool.

have not flown it still building it too cold here in new york to go flying
got to glue the motor mounts on the wing
but its too cold to open the window so i wont die from the epoxy smell
just stuck the wing on to see what it will look like when done

"differential thrust" How are you working this? Not with the throttle stick alone. Interesting.

Thanks Chellie. The answer is plain, controled by the rudder stick.

Looks great! Bet it takes off like a rocket.

Differential thrust is easy with most higher end radios.
Is useful for taxiing a taildragger with a castering tail wheel or tail skid. Also for a float plane with no water rudder.

made some custom decals from colored packing tape for my 4 motor stick
lay down some wax paper put colored packing tape over that
then on top goes your design cut it out peal back the wax paper
and slap it on your plane

Can't wait for video of it in the air! I wanna convert my .46 Tower glo powered stick to electric. Gotta figure what electronics I need, and an engine mount setup.

Those yellow glues such as Titebond are quite strong, likely plenty strong enough for mounting motor mounts and such.

IMHO, epoxy is still the adhesive of choice for highly stressed firewalls and similar locations.

That's not a proper flying field, the trees are much too far away!

that's funny Dave
there is about 5+ planes stuck in them
we have all that brush around the runway
that turns into bungee sticks in the Fall
when you land in it makes your plane look like Swiss cheese
