OK so I am browsing and see that Tower has the EP Contender - the new(ish) mini version on special for a remarkable $57.81 right now.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXCGDN&P=ML

So - that is pretty much too hard to pass up - any experience on here with this little one?

I had the large one back in the day - and it was a spectacular flier. I suspect this will be much the same.

Anyone own this?

Mike

Today is your lucky Day.

Enter this coupon and save another $10 off. :D Coupon Code: 014F1

Lots of reviews on You Tube Etc. Gets great reviews - only negative is the monokote is wrinkly etc.

What do you expect for $48 bucks, looks like a great lil flyer for the $$.

Good to know Henry - thanks!

BullDog,

I'm not sure why you were ignored in your attempt to
give some helpful info on the subject.
It seems a moderator would appreciate any feedback
and also welcome you seeing these were your first
posts on this forum.
I for one do appreciate your thoughts and comments on the
plane and if the code works thats just a double bonus.
Welcome to Wattflyer and I hope you receive attention deserved
in future postings.

Good Luck!

He was not ignored - I read his posts. Sorry you expected more.

If it flys like its big funfly brother it will be a winner . There were 4 or 5 guys winning contests with a contender and a guy in our club cut kits for his version contender a protender . He use to compete in contests with his protender in the 70s and won just about all he entered. BTW You can ignor my posts it wont bother me . Lmao Just kidding no one was ignored in this thread rcers i know you better than that. You are always helpfull here on wattflyers and realy enjoy what you do . :D joe

I always ignore you Joe...
;)
LOL

Yep back in the day (I had one) the Top Flite kit was remarkable. Plus you could make it look military but have an excellent sport ship.

I LOVED the inverted flight of the bigger one.

I clicked order - just too cheap to pass up. Used the coupon codes that I had and it is under $60 bucks shipped. I already have a Rimfire 10 motor and servos, ESC and plenty of batts that size.

So I have a new plane ready to go for $60 even better.

:)

My old friend with his protender could fly inverted down our paved runway and scrape the rudder have way down it great flying inverted airplane. Yea for 60 bucks you cant go wrong if these planes keep getting any cheaper i might take a break from scratch building and buy and fly in my old age. :D joe

I have two kits on the bench - I am just too lazy to finish up. I have become ARFed. Sad really.... Even the RTF's are pretty sweet.

But I need to fly more this year - last was a drop and I am trending the same this year. My key buddy has not been available as much and it is a social event afterall.

This Contender will be the trick - I am a bit tired of all my wardbirds right now - some just take too much flying attention. This should be a nice mild relaxing switch.

Want to get the new ParkZone Archer too. Hmmmmm nice...

I'm flying one of the kits from Tower. Notice that I made a cowl instead of the usual Conterder front end.

I learned on Corvette Forums a long time ago, boards are to share information. Some people are appreciative and say so, others just read, take the information for what it is and go about their business. Different Strokes for different folks.

Thanks for your your positive comments and welcoming me to the forum.

I ordered 2 of these and got electronics from HeadsUP RC. I'm really into Nitro RC Boats but my Hangar is growing quickly!!!

Exactly correct - I don't thank people just for posting. You added value to the thread and that is great. You bought because of the price I indicated - that was one of my purposes too --- let folks know about a great deal.

We will have to compare notes on this one - I ordered as well and am excited about this plane and especially at this price.

I do appreciate your indication of the reviews (I had read them on RCU and RCG).

But, also, as OP I was asking for people who already had the plane and what they thought. That is why I called out Henry and thanked him.

So no offense intended BullDog - but thanking people for every post becomes really monotonous IMHO.

So, I do now feel I need to do the following.

Thank you BullDog - YOU ROCK!!!! Showing my sincerity - I have also clicked the thanks button!

subzJC - the inference that I didn't read BullDogs post was pure speculation.

A lesson for life (I learned this long ago but recently had to re-teach my 20 year old son about this valuable life's lesson - he was trying to change his boss LOL).

You can change yourself, but not others. Trying to change others behaviors can just really be an effort of futility.

I, for example, will post how I feel, when I feel and to whom I choose to interact with. You are free to do the same. But when you call out others for not doing what YOU would have done, you may find yourself frustrated. Variety is indeed the spice of life and others will do as others will do.

Whew, I feel better!

:D

I do like the "old" style panel lines. Really reminds me of the classic version. :)
