I learned this story a few years ago, the first video "lecture" is a tad bland at first:), but trust me it gets better hearing personalized stories of recovering "Glacier Girl" from over 250ft below the ice surface. One of the greatest. |
Yesterday morning had one of the ThunderChickens flyover @ a few thousand feet. Those blades & nacellles are incredible and immense. And the sound was pretty impressive too.
First time ever seeing one in real life. |
something a little different, but on my bucket list! |
CR,
Great stuff ! I can never get enough. Thanks, Hawk |
No prob Hawk!:)

CR good thing you got to see the Thunderbirds now that they are grounded due to sequestration. They are exciting to watch I dont know if they are better than blue angels but just as good

Thanks guys....kinda silly....just remembering years ago, my g-pa jack & g-ma jean, after a sat. afternoon flight,
they would get all "dolled up" & go to a picture show @ the Rialto:) Course, Gpa would disappear suddenly after that!(domino parlor & gin:rolleyes:) @ Fish, only seen the T-birds once long ago, never got to see Blue Angels.., The USMC 263's were the ThunderChickens, from what I've learned, the first & only squad to fly V-22 Ospreys. Too bad they never made a A-22 gunship!! They would be Super ThunderChickens! The V-22 only had one "rear", out the back door, offensive weapon in the video. Never Have I seen one flying, even at static airshows or the like. Then couple weeks ago, seen one flyover my house, very unique sound and those blades are HUGE!!. BTW, yesterday just seen a Galaxy(i think???....C-5???) power & rotate out of Vance AFB and head south! Quite the sight again! edit....it was a C-17....i think.... cr |

Oooh, that one has a sad ending... Keep the tissues handy!
Spoiler alert: don't read below if you really don't know the end of this one! The CAF was in town a month or so ago with FIFI, and one of the mechanics told me that one of the CAF consultants warned them not to run the APU while taxiing... |
just a short one....but very good.....goes on my bucket list..#42!

Spoiler alert! Don't read until you've watched them!
Vid #1) What are you doing out there at night, fool!?!?!? (In Mr. T voice) #2) Should be titled Ultimate Extreme RC Flying #3) Meh. Looks tiny. But still, why would you even get close to that in a puny Cessna??? #4) O! M! G! Tanker full of what coming!!!!!! Most impressive video of bunch. I was scared! #5) Beauty and danger. Neat stuff again, Crimzon! And forgot to mention, I didn't comment on last weeks vids, as I've seen some of them before, but it's really impressive flying! And I just recently got to fly in the co-pilot seat of the CAF's C-45 (Beech 18). Good time! Keep 'em coming! I enjoy them. |
lol @ spoiler alert:)
The 18s' cockpit looked quite busy, a ride would be a once in a lifetime event for sure. cr |
