slow stick landing gear
Has anyone had trouble with the front landing gear falling off ? Mine did 2 times while landing then on the way home. I opened up my bed cover to get the plane out and the LG had came off again I checked the mmount for cracks and it's fine the gear does slide back in easy. I remember it was tight when I first installed it.

Dude, it's just wire, bend it. Widen the U shape that fits into the plastic mount a little. Snug as a bug....
I am always adjusting mine due to some of my more spectacular landings. |
I did bend it to make it fit tighter. I was just woundering if this is a common problem with the slow stick. I'm happy about it for the fact I didn't mount my GoPro camera to it like I was going to do.

Put a zip tie around the wire. That way you don't have to worry about it falling out ever.

Or a dab of hotglue.

Thanks guys by the way rcers I have been to the site already. The landing gear is on my list because I do want to use my GoPro on the plane and I think it would add too much weight for the stock LG. I was thinking of trying it today I'm glad I didn't find away to mount the camera it cost to much. 808 keychain camera might go on the list.

I think even a 1800 battery makes the stock landing gear about useless. How much does a go pro weigh?
I have a nice set of aluminium landing gear I've mounted to mine, but might be a bit too heavy for some peoples liking. |
I'm not sure of the weight I think my 2200 3s is heavier than the GoPro but not by much it's close very close.Right now I have a few things on my mind rc related at the time I'm looking at a micro single rotor indoor heli, or get what I need to get my cub flying again or get the parts to fix my Thunder Tiger mini titan heli & X gear upgrade for the slow stick.

A 2200 3 cell should weigh 5-6oz.
I braced my stock landing gear with the same sized wire, tied it together with some kite string, then glued the string to keep it from sliding. I ran this setup for about a year. Its still usable, but I would ocassionally break the stock. Gws wheels. Swapping to some "light weight sport" wheels for about $4 from my lhs cured this, but I still had quite a bit of side to side play in the landing gear. As I am planning trike gear and have a lower wing with a straight bottom wing, I am getting sick of the wing tips dragging, which is why I upgraded. |
With the added weight you really need the upgraded undercarriage.

Well I bought an indoor single rotor 4ch. heli. I will get the upgraded LG next pay for the slow stick. Hayofstacks I bought DU-BRO micro sport wheels for the plane when I first got it but there 2 1\2" not 3" they should still work but I was going to wait till I needed them. If the 2.5's are too small I'll get 3" for the SS & put the 2.5 on my cub.

The Millineum Gear works great. I have it on my SS.
