stopwatch function for dx8 ?
i haven't managed to find this covered elsewhere, so i figured i'd ask here
is it possible to set up the dx8 so the timer function emulates a simple stopwatch - yes, i know i can do that from the moment i activate the count up timer, but i have a more specific requirement
recently i have started flying a miniDLG, and recently also acquired an altimeter so i am now able to extrapolate single flight duration from a continuous graph
what i am after preferably is a means to start and then re-zero the count up timer, preferably using the trainer/bind button, or even the mix toggle
even better if i could use a combo of trainer button for start and stop, and mix to re-zero; presently the trainer button will start and stop, but it is a cumulative count
the only way i know to re-set the timer is switching off and on, and that means needing to also re-set the rx to rebind - really not convenient :censor:
anyone know of a means to do what i need... there must be some hackers out there who have the skills, and may have done so
or if i beg spektrum ? any chance ?? ????
thanks for any ideas [popcorn]
Do you have the latest Dx8 software update? I heard it has a whole bunch of sailplane programming. Don't know if something like that is included, but if it's a sailplane thing maybe there's a chance. I didn't get the upgrade yet, as it's only sailplane related.
found the answer, and it was really simple
the trainer button can toggle start / stop for the timer
but the clever part is the "clear" button resets it to zero :D
who'da thunk it ? :p> (short answer : not me, obviously....)
fwiw i hope this thread helps a lot of other people ignorant of that simple fact
Glad you found it. I'm not a big glider guy(Well, I'm a pretty big guy, and I have one glider...), but I'll try this with my Radian to see how long my flights are. Thanks!
