Never Say Die ! Skyartec 182 rises again ..
3 years on ............ she rises again from the ashes of the crash !!
This is one model that seems destined to just keep going ... I thought my Lanyu ME109 was a stayer !! But this baby is just hanging on by all that's possible.
I'd smashed the wing, broke out fwd fuselage section, deformed and split the plastic firewall, buckled up like a scrapyards mess the metal motor mount. Snapped servo arms, clevis etc. stripped gears ...
Well with all that - you'd think I'd call it a day ? No - she's all ready to go again ....
I must be mad !!
As you know Hawk ... I fly some real beasts ... but that Cessna has a place with me that is hard to explain.
I think we all have a model that will always be with us ... my Cessna was the first out of car to fly new venues etc. - I knew her inside out and could 'get a feel for a new site' or weather with her ... then I'd fly my crazy stuff.
I've felt a loss whenever going flying without her ...
She'll probably fly badly now ... but at least I've given her a chance to live again. Bit like my beat-up old T45 - with rebirth as a pusher !
You're one of the best RC A&P's out there. When others say: " to the bin" you say: "opportunity becons"
Best of luck keeping your Cessna off life support.
Funny that models are about the last avenue left that I can exercise such 'opportunity' !
Yes it's true that I find it hard to resist a busted up model ... see if it can fly again.
I have a thing buzzing in my mind lately ... we use depron / foam board for planes ... Can we use for boats ?
I've looked online and don't find much about scratchbuild boats in foam ...
