Don't know about a lot of wattflyer readers out there, but I learned my lesson on those Expo settings during a maiden flight of a giant scale model several years ago.

The problem was, the expo was set at 40% or so. And, the elevator was so far out of kilter, even when the elevator trim was run to full up trim, the model still dove for the ground.

So, the model had to be flown while holding up elevator. And, that elevator was in the expo region, so just slightly moving the elevator stick up or down resulted in wild airplane climbing or diving. The model was landed in one piece, but the pilot learned a few new swear words in the process.

Ever since that flight, all of my maiden flights have been with zero expo. After the model was trimmed out, then expo was added as needed for reasonable flight control.

Thank you

I've taken expo out on low rate elevator & at 60% rate so hopefully it mite be a little more forgiving

Put the battery wherever it has to be to get the correct cg. You did balance it with the battery in it, right? (Sorry to ask, but it's been done before. ) If it's still nose heavy with the battery as far aft as it can go, you may have to resort to adding weight in the tail.

Ok

Hi followed instructions & def, nose heavy been advised move back 10mm, from aft see how that goes cheers mate
