Guillows B-24 Lib conversion

Will be waiting for the cows to come home before anyone comes out with a B-24 Lib. Even though there were far of them more produced than the B-17, Lanc, etc.
Dear to my heart as my Dad was a Tech Sarge / flight engineer on the B-24. 93rd Heavy Bombardment group / 8th Air Force ( Ted's Flying Circus ) stationed in Libya and Northern England., near Manchester. Was on board in the raid on the Ploesti oilfields.
Was thinking I could take a stab at this and make it a long term project.
Would be great. A very under represented plane. Must have been quite an experience for your dad. Think I've mentioned in another thread a book I read, Tail End Charlie, that showed just how scary it was to be on a normal bombing mission, let alone one like Ploesti.
It seems the foam B-17's are doing well in sales, from all the copycats out there. Maybe they'll get wise.
He never talked much about the war when we were growing up until late in his life when he talked a lot about his squadron.
I was at the Pima museum in Tucson several years back and there's a beautifully restored B-24 indoors, in one of the hangars. There were a couple of old geezers about my Dad's age sitting in lawn chairs near the plane. Called my Dad on the cell phone and told him I was standing under the Bombay doors of a B-24. He got so excited, started directing me for what to look for as I was climbing around the aircraft. He knew that plane inside and out and was asking me what I was seeing. Man, talk about some tight quarters for a crew of 10.
I then put him on the line with the 2 old guys sitting there and they talked for about 30 minutes. Smiles on their faces. Turned out that all three had spent time at Consolidated's factory in San Diego as part of their training. The greatest generation.
Not to take away any glory from the B-17 but their bases were mainly near London. It was the lazy US press corps that rarely travelled North to hang out with the Liberator squads. It was faster, could fly higher and carried a bigger bomb load than the B-17.
There were a few balsa kits made over the years like Jack Stafford's kit but I really don't have the talent, available space nor the time to get that involved. I can only hope that sometime in my lifetime, the Lib gets some recognition in the RC ARF world.
