BCS goes out in style. What a game!

Wow, what a game that was last night! I had to be talked off the ledge at halftime, but in the end the Noles came back and were successful in securing their 3rd National Championship title in 20 years, and the first for coach Jimbo Fisher.

And even though there's been a lot of strife and controversy over the BCS system throughout the years, at least in this final year there was no doubt about which two teams should have played as so many Top 5 teams lost in the last few games of the year (and then a lot of them also went down in their bowl games too, what a year for the underdog!).

Up until 4:30 left to play in the game, it looked like Auburn was well on the way to upsetting FSU for the title. But after an Auburn field goal to make it 24-20, FSU returned the ensuing kickoff 102 yards to take the lead back. Then Auburn's next drive went to the endzone and left FSU 1:15 to go to work. Winston took the boys right down the field and scored the winning TD!

I'm still a little hoarse from all the yelling. :)

Now we get to see how well a 4-team playoff system works (or doesn't). ;)

Go Noles!

As an ole Gator and SEC guy, I was rooting for Auburn. I remember the early Bobby Bowden days when I was in school in Gainesville. They beat us for the first time in about 20 years back then and it was the beginning of their march to the top. Of course our coach was Charlie Pell at the time.

Most people don't know this but FSU was an all-girl school up until 1947 . Never really balanced out. I believe it's still about 5 to 1. Had I known that back in the mid -70's, I might have changed schools. LOL But I decided to go to; THE University of Florida !

You guys need some help down there. I remember Charlie very well. I also remember what we used to chant too (Go to **** Pell! :D). Yes, the 80's and 90's were good Bobby Bowden/Charlie Pell years. I used to work the FSU home games for the HS marching band from 80-84. We sold drinks in the student section. Boy that was fun!

Well, everyone has their faults. ;)

Yeah I had already graduated with Wes Chandler and Chris Collingsworth in '78 while Doug ("Avoid losing") Dickey was still coach. Charley had a sad life but set the table for Galen Hall and later, the coach you loved to hate, Steve Spurrier.

Jimbo Fisher's the real deal up there. I can forsee a time in the near future where the battle for State supremacy between UF, FSU, UM and now UCF will be a big deal again.

missed it -- dang it

Steve Spurrier was good for only one thing. Watching him loose his temper and throw his visor on the ground. :p>

It was a great game! I was rooting for Auburn though!

OK, there's another one for the list. ;)
