Don Sims 04-05-2014 12:56 AM

Ahhh stero playing quad?

Nitro Blast 04-05-2014 04:01 AM

Don, its much bigger news than that....

xmech2k 04-05-2014 04:18 AM

A new product? Drones doing 3d aerobatics, putting heli's out of business?

hayofstacks 04-05-2014 04:25 AM

Journalisum drone.

i heard they had a cease order from the faa.

pizzano 04-05-2014 04:51 AM

It could be the new 3d video capturing device.........?

Seen some of this 3d video beta stuff at:

http://www.multirotorforums.com/forum.php

Nitro Blast 04-05-2014 05:15 AM

None of the above, but it is a NEW something..... actually a lot of new something's...

Both clues are there for a reason...

What is that blue belt? A carrying handle??

(No I don't fly these things. No rotor models of any kind are allowed at our field)

Nitro Blast 04-05-2014 06:08 AM

Well KST, its a transmitter strap... worn by a PERSON...... *huge clue*

pizzano 04-05-2014 06:10 AM

If it is related to 3D Robotics, who has a new manufacturing plant in Baja, Otay, TJ.......the quad shown is not yet posted on their web site......so, I'm clue-less.....although, it is apparent that some kind of Go-Pro Hero is mounted and all the motors are brushless......and that model shown is much more attractive and stream-lined than the 3D Robotics I've seen in person......having moved to TJ should help keep the cost of production down too!

xmech2k 04-05-2014 06:27 AM

Looks like the top of a DJI Phantom to me, but I'm not flying those either. Yet. OK. You got a new club badge holder! ? :D  ;-)

Ok. You're a rep for them? Googled them and seems they produce some autonomous electronics? Not being deep into the uas world yet, their site was a little vague for me. I didn't see what their product does that a lot of quads and things do already.

Nitro Blast 04-05-2014 06:47 AM

Ok, I'm loving this, but it is not related to me.

Yes, it is a DJI Phantom (version 2, means nothing)

and Yes, it is a 3D Robotics Neck strap...

So.... what can those two possibly have in common..... now?

Wildflyer 04-05-2014 07:44 AM

Some kind of merge between the two?

Hmmmm, Maybe you can put the strap around your neck, and attach it to the Quad, and it will lift you off the ground to do some sight seeing ???? :D :D :D LOL

JetPlaneFlyer 04-05-2014 08:08 AM

DJI has bought out 3D Robotics? Hard to imagine it being the opposite way around, DJI being much bigger.

Taking out the competition so they can keep their prices up?

Nitro Blast 04-05-2014 04:41 PM

JPF & Wildflyer are on to something...... not a merge, nor a buy out....

'cmon keep thinking! Some of you may know the news a while ago about DJI? Hmm.....

gramps2361 04-05-2014 05:27 PM

They are going to be the U.S distributor for DJ had to do with the designer, and a law suit if I remember correctly. I am I close?

pizzano 04-05-2014 05:32 PM

Did Colin Guinn and Chris Anderson put their heads together with something......I remember when Anderson rounded up $30 million to set up an alliance (capital venture) with several others in the industry in 2013......?

sidybee 04-05-2014 10:49 PM

sidybee 04-05-2014 10:50 PM

Nitro Blast 04-06-2014 01:05 AM

CHELLIE 04-06-2014 01:35 AM

Hmmmmm is Amazon going to be using them to deliver the Mail/packages :)

Amazon working on flying drones to deliver packages to your doorstep

xmech2k 04-06-2014 01:41 AM

The DJI Phantom (or some new name) will have a new whiz-bang fancy computer on board.

pizzano 04-06-2014 02:06 AM

I'm still sniffen around but loosing the scent pretty fast.....It would not be that surprising to me if (now that 3D Robotics) has firmly planted it's R & D feet on the west coast....and DJI is now DJI North America (Texas), something would be brewing.....running out of guesses though!

Nitro Blast 04-06-2014 02:27 AM

Work off of pizzano's clue... and its bigger news 'industry wide'.....remember that there is no longer any DJI North America in Texas....
