HK Cri Cri

Bought this on a whim last week, and 5 days later it showed up. Immediately peeled most of the stickers off the sides of the fuze, and underneath the wings. Next up I painted the fake engines and exhaust, I didn't like the black, so I went with silver. Painted the wings and horizontal stab yellow, then put some covering on the bottom, two blues. Added some yellow trim tape here and there.

Nice solid plane, sounds scary loud and fast just spooling up. Holds a 1500-1800, although plenty of room for a 2200. I'll be flying this soon, no later than this weekend for our electric fun fly. Need to get a pilot though, it screams for something goofy in there. Last pic is how it showed up before I made some changes.

I saw that plane on hk, such a unique design, based off a really plane I think I read.

There's a jet CriCri and an electric CriCri flying. Very interesting little airplane.

I was at the Air Show when it was first displayed in UK by the French Guy who designed and built it.

Name I seem to recall was based on the Cricket and the sound. I remember the two screaming engines and the horrible sound it made ... think they were Rotax engines ..

Ya, the video of that thing running sounds like the loudest most obnoxious weedwackers with no mufflers going. It sure does haul along nicely though in real life.

Perhaps it's just coincidence that it sounds similiar with both electric props spinning...almost like the sound a profile plane makes with the prop centered towards the rear of the plane.

I'll try to get video of it.

I would like to have it but I have too many planes.

But I would love to show up at our electric ONLY field with the Cri Cri. From a short distance I am sure someone would jump all over me about having a nitro plane at the field. Then watch the look on there face, when you run up the twin electrics.

Yup...that would be funny. Maidened it yesterday and two of the older guys at the club saw me take it out and said, omg you went to glow? Jaws dropped when I showed them what it was.

I'll write more later (heading out to our electric only event today), but the plane was a handful for the first few flights. Take off is sort of harrowing, I'll try to get video.

I am heading out now hope to see you fly it today. I'll be hanging out with coreman and his wife. Great day for flying!

I see your props are turning outward at the top of the blades, and the pictures of the HK Cri Cri are turning inwards at the top.

I know it seems like this shouldn't make much difference, but the first P-38 didn't fly very well, until they switched the motors around. It may be that some planes like it one way or the other.
