Well in over 50 years I have never had a prop nut come loose let alone on an electric.
Maybe I tighten them properly.

Personally I like the brake on.
I fly gliders and wings etc but find all my planes (including scale) glide a lot better if the motor is braked.
Only thing I don't have brakes on is the quads.

I love my Phoenix. They are one tough fuse. I thought you appeared to have plenty of speed and it looked like a freeze up (of pilot) more than a stall. Just my humble opinion.
