A rough answer, ....

....... I am still far from a clean workbench and do not want to take mine to bits here to measure it. I am almost certain that the Helipal spare parts list will give you those dimensions. It is not...

A word of caution about GPS Failsafe modes.

Some manufacturers do advise against switching the transmitter off during GPS operations. Check your manual, if of course it is readable. :)

A very doubtful Saint

But it's a fine compliment. My gospel is fun. Anyone who is having fun will be happy with their lot and I will be happy for them. The Whitespy range is very interesting. There is a $15 board called...

Missing my Quads.

I am am away from home and thinking about the fleet (and smartest of the bunch, the Walkera)

It flew every day for seven weeks before I went on holiday. Still no bent bits, scratches or prop...

PID's and flight controllers.

I don't disagree with those who love the NAZA but after enjoying so much flying with Whitespy, KK2.1 and Bambucopter it is a little hard to put it at the top of the list. I have never needed to make...

Short and to the Point.

1) Since launching with neutral trims from a proven level surface I have had 100% hover hold locks:D

2) Altitude in Hover hold varies (average + or - 500mm) but you can trim it, without changing...

The trail got tougher.

While I have been having a ball with my QR X350 in its regular flying (manual) mode I have run into some real difficulties with the GPS functions. These problems went much deeper than the position of...

Hmmm ! Complex stuff.

I am getting low stress flights (just cruising really) of around 9 minutes duration without any sense of alarm from the flight controller. Alarm in this case means a forced landing. This has happened...

An update.

I am slowly getting used to the QRX. It is very different to most of my scratch built Multi-Wii types. It is super critical at startup to being level. Today I went out on my grassy field with a...

A little more about voltage.

My experiments have shown that GPS devices may be quite critical of battery voltage and battery condition. It could be that we all need to move up to the new, highest, quality levels.

Yesterday I...

I have had similar problems with a different Quad.

In my case (Walkera QRX 350) the battery voltage is critical. When the volts are getting low, the GPS functions do not engage.

My experiments to date have been restricted to Position Hold and I...

Can I help ?

I am now convinced that my QRX 350 is doing exactly what it was intended to do. The irritating difficulties I experienced in the first ten days are attributable to poor documentation on the...

Not too clever to be too smart.

It seems like a month but I have only been flying my QR X350 for ten days and largely it has been incident free.

There were two ugly moments when I accidentally flicked the GPS (mix) switch into...

A worthy contender

I had not seen the Blade when I placed my rather impulsive order. It does look good. More importantly my experience with the mQX, has taught me that Blade really invests in their hard copy manual....

It has taken one "full-on" week ......

.... to unravel the mysteries of this beautiful Quad. It has been a very real challenge for my 70 year old brain, but I suppose that the strain has heightened my sense of achievement. No parts are...

Take off flips in quads......

.... are most commonly caused by an error in the props or the direction of rotation. You have not mentioned a crash but for my theory to be right ,there must have been a recent crash which saw...

Meanwhile the mast fairing emerges.

I found a piece of celluloid which is about 0.2mm. That seems just a fraction too thick. I am wondering if plain paper (double thickness) and covered with modelling film (ironed on) would be...

Walkera QR X350

Aaaaaah !!!! You are so right. I saw that but too late. Still, on the bright side I guess there are lots of others who might be discovering the same problem.

That's life. Birdmanpete.

Quad issues.

Something very basic is wrong and it is likely to be with the relationship of the transmitter and the flight controller. You have not said anything about either. My suspicion is that you did not set...

Good thoughts, thankyou again.

I have made the pitch wedges and fitted the blades.

Understanding PIDS in Quads

Can anyone explain to...

Thanks for that. The other area which interests me is the rigging angle of the blades. Have you heard of any experimentation with more and less angle of attack.

Best wishes, Birdmanpete

I got hold of an auto rotator from HK and it seems simple enough until you want to switch it on and off. There is a special two wire servo plug and I am guessing it goes in a remote switch which is...
