Making a Start with UAV.

In January 2014 I started a thread for all those who were working on the Walkera QRX 350. At the time, the general feeling was that the QRX 350 was really bad news. Since then huge progress has been...

We are all crossing a frontier.

GPS and the QRX 350, in its standard version, took me up to the check point. After a lot of fumbling with the paperwork I moved onto new territory and now I feel very much at home. BUT !!!

The...

Super Good.

I really don't need thanking.

Every word of mine; in this thread and in every frame of six Youtubes, was made with the hope that others would find that the QRX 350 was not "too cheap to be good"...

All lit up and armless

I have seen a problem like this at least twice and it could be a very simple issue. The LED flash which you describe is typical of an attempt to arm when either of the GPS switches on the...

That is really good news.

If you go to Google and enter Binding Walkera F7 you will find two youtubes which seem to cover the territory. Best of luck.

Wrestling with FIXID

I must make it clear that "the Pro" is a very different machine to the QRX350 which I have. The total process I followed will not be exactly right for you but I would expect the FIXID to be the same...

A word of CAUTION !!!

I had some "strange" events yesterday while flying FPV. The effect observed from the ground was a rapid increase in height while flying in Hover Hold or Return to Home. I landed LOS without problem....

I went on line and searched "Spektrum Conversion QRX 350". I found a heap of stuff which could help.

Best of luck, Birdmanpete.:D

Switching receivers.

Hi Sparky, welcome to the thread.

The experiment you sugges should work but I have not tried it. I would be interested in knowing what leads you to want to try making the change. It will take...

There aint no foolin you Mr Pizzano !!!:D Where I live there are only five quaddies and only two of them fly more than one day a week.

The QRX 350 for Training

Very recently I saw a technique to rescue a quad from that dreadful situation where the model is almost invisible, just above the horizon, it is still in range and it is hovering but you don't know...

An FPV Suggestion

As I wear glasses I never considered goggles. Until, a month ago, when I saw the Quanum one screen goggles.

I made a copy of that concept which I call, "The Monocle". It was made by fitting a 2.5...

Hi Pizzano, I am happy to hear of your pleasure with the Blade product. I certainly admire their documentation. One of my local friends flies one and it is very effective but I cannot point to any...

I have been wrestling with way points for GPS. It has been tough and while I think I am winning I have just seen a thread on DIY Drones based on the QRX Pro, currently selling for $309 (PNF). And it...

Keeping track of your Quad

Thanks for the question. I'm not sure where you are coming from. But the subject is interesting. The Walkera as sold has nothing on board which electronically makes it easy to track.

In a bigger...

Well Pizzano, I am not that keen ....

I find that when I fly FPV I am...

Talking Yaw Input during Hover Hold.

Great Question.

My Walkera has now averaged 1.5 flights per day since Jan 17, 2013. I have had no crashes, which did damage. I don't think you will find an easier Quad to fly, once you get past the instruction sheet...

A word of caution about GPS Failsafe modes.

Some manufacturers do advise against switching the transmitter off during GPS operations. Check your manual, if of course it is readable. :)

PID's and flight controllers.

I don't disagree with those who love the NAZA but after enjoying so much flying with Whitespy, KK2.1 and Bambucopter it is a little hard to put it at the top of the list. I have never needed to make...

2) Altitude in Hover hold varies (average + or - 500mm) but you can trim it, without changing...

I am getting low stress flights (just cruising really) of around 9 minutes duration without any sense of alarm from the flight controller. Alarm in this case means a forced landing. This has happened...

I am slowly getting used to the QRX. It is very different to most of my scratch built Multi-Wii types. It is super critical at startup to being level. Today I went out on my grassy field with a...
