Yea, that's the way I set mine up originally, but it tucked in the turns and it ran out of elevator, moving the CG back cured those bad tendency's. Try it with the CG back and see how you like it.

I ran mine on four cells, it worked OK, but I like it fine on three cells, so I put a 2200 3s in it. I had to cut some foam away to move the battery back to get it to balance properly though.
