Yeah but it just seems kinda wasteful to discharge all the way to LVC then charge back up to storage, not to mention being hard on the battery if the LVC is pretty low, possibly doing more damage...

You would have to use a brushed ESC. One problem would be that i dont think you would find a brushed ESC with an LVC that could be set high enough for optimum storage voltage.
