I never tried a loop, but stall turn no problem. I mostly fly it sedately, scale-like. I do aerobatics with planes built for it. Like my Pulse 25.

I Just put my Emeter on it and got 44.6 A and 643 W : 85.73 W / lb. It seems Ecalc is way off!
Even with this power one has to feed in power slowly and never jam the throttle open for take-off to...

I have the exact same plane with the Power 46 and 13x8 running from a 4200 4s pack. It has enough power. For a scale plane like this, 65W per pound is fine. Most sport planes are way over powered, in...

Sorry, it was not clear on the photo that it is on a shelf above the hole.

My Esc also gets hot, but never gave any sign of distress, even when the temperature is 30 deg C or more. Throttle...

Ventilation holes

I think the holes will be blocked by the battery. I see the sattelite Rx is mounted on the only ventilation hole. Try moving it and get your servo wires tied together to make them more compact. This...

Dave

I agree, putting them in the cowl is a good idea. Their weight and safer chemistry make A123 a winner. If the weight is not enough, consider using NiXX. These short-nosed planes that had...

I'm glad it is not the motor on the German site I have to rewind! I can read German, just need a dictionary here and there.

Rewinding inrunner

Ron

Yes, the windings span 3 poles and overlap. The windings are 6 wires parallel. Took some pic's. You may be able to see the glue that sticks everything together. Any idea what type it is?...

Rewinding inrunner

I managed to open the motor by making a puller tool from a center piece of a folding prop and two 3 mm bolts. It has 18 poles visible on its inner surface, with the windings going around more than...

Electra power

I replaced my Electra's 550 with a 600 with gearbox 2.8:1 swinging a 11x8 folder, on 7 cells. It is a bit heavy but flies well, at least a lot better than the 550. Been thinking of converting to AXI...

Try AXI 2814/10 10x6 folder 2S or 7 cell
Or 2814/12 10x5 3S
Both are good for sailplanes up to 1500g or 53 Oz
Electra should weigh a lot less with brushless and Lipo's

My Mirage with the AXI 2814/12 flies well, maybe too much power, but one can always throttle back! I would also be interested to do the steerable tailwheel mod.

Power for Mirage 550

The AXI 2808 could be OK, depending on the all up weight. What prop/batt will you use?
