Cool CG

CG is the killer. My mentor, a gifted pilot has struggled mightily to trim out my new planes. I think a plane is perfect, he see's a dozen critical problems

It's taken a year, but I'm...

Red face Crazed

We have a crazy that shows up at our field. His hair out in all directions, clothing torn and disheveled. The other pilots, engineers with their F-15s and Strykers give him "Bob" the most respect....

New Plane

Yep, that's a new plane. It was up for 60 seconds. The front grill is smashed. The cabanes and mounts that attached to the fuse are all gone. You can't buy these.

The plane is very...

Build Review Horizon

Because it worked before the crash, they say they wont cover it. You can see the servo cranked down. There was no saving this plane with one aileron cranked down.

I feel better

The left aileron servo was locked all the way down, which was the way the plane spiraled into the back stop. This is the second Eflite servo that's failed on my planes.

I know it worked...

Unhappy I feel Stupid

A beautiful PZ SE5a, took off, struggled with trim. Success, a moment of level, calm, steady flight, RIGHT INTO A BASEBALL BACKSTOP. SH*T. I must be the dumbest NOOB in the sport. Such a...

Red face Cold

I don't think the cold is as hard on the planes as moisture, or heat. For example, it got pretty warm in my garage over the summer, a PZ Radian had it's tail hanging out over the shelf. The heat...

Red face Follow up

After clicking the trim down on the throttle, I have not had the motor starting and stopping. Though, I haven't seen the other pilot either. I'm pretty sure it was a matter of trim. This was a...

Red face Widder

Widder electric gloves are quite common in the motorcycle industry. You might have a look at them. The older models had wire heating elements. The newer models have a cloth type heating element and...

Red face Hatch

I'm trying to make a hatch for a PZ SE5A. I have a thin piece of bass wood sheet. I'm trying to figure the hinges on the front. The original had tabs. The back is held by a latch.

The...

I haven't seen the guy I was getting interference from in awhile. But I'm content to think my Trim may have been adjusted up.

When I approached the model, He was taking off. I noticed my...

Smile Timer

Mine counts down. It beeps once for every minute that goes by. It beeps multiple times when I hit zero, then, it starts counting up. I just thought that was the way it worked. Makes sense to me...

Zero

I have one in the box, so I'm watching your thread. From what I've read, they have a particularly vicious torque roll on hand launch.

Trim

I am 90% certain that this is a case of Trim being out. It's an AR6110, newly installed to an EFlite ESC. I'll try some adjustments. The other radio may have been on just coincidentally:).

Red face Nose heavy

Being new, I'm not used to having the nose drop with power off. The plane looks like it's coming down like a brick. I pull back on the stick and pop it up. So, I'm now experimenting with throttle...

I scrounged up a used Alpha 450. On my 4th landing, the plywood block that holds the rear landing gear fell out. (on a fairly smooth landing I might say) Looking at it, it appears that there was...

Wink Wow

Sounds like one of my flights.

Actually, I did pretty well with a MiniMag til a faulty aileron caused it to spin a tight circle down into the ground.

Red face Friends

I hand launch my planes and have my friend Erich take them up, and trim them out. There after, I haven't had as many problems.
