All the Aeromasters I've flown were much heavier than the one you are doing.
That said the lowest pitch prop I've used on an Aeromaster was a 6 inch pitch.

Most flew well with an 7 to 8 inch...

I too like a thin firewall. Since the front of the airplane is usually the first to arrive in a crash, the firewall takes the hit. A thin firewall is usually easier to replace than the whole nose.
