Hopefully the solid, rules abiding clubs, with dedicated fields are not too affected.

As the others said get a Wattmeter. Besides a good quality radio it is one of the best, required really, purchases for anyone who flies electric.

May just be a bad pack. What brand is it? I have gotten some bad ones in the past that do that, just can't deliver the amperage needed.

Also check to make sure it is not a low C rated receiver...

Definitely get a case.

I went a bit overboard on mine and got a Pelican case. But you can drive over it with a truck and it won't crush. Plus it is water proof as well.
