The watts per lb rule doesn't work. I've wasted money on motors that ended up being too weak. I wouldn't go under 350watts for 20 oz planes.

I've tried tapping plywood with glue on the threads, but the plywood layers don't all stay together sometimes. So I just add more plywood and make it thicker....
