Question on spars

We are sheeting the entire plane with balsa. Would balsa spars for the main wing suffice or do we need to upgrade them to spruce? There are 4 spars that run the length of the wing 1/4" wide by 3/4"...

Back at it

Finally felt up to working (knee is starting to work well). We were able to get the trailer out and prime the sides before other obligations took us away. We hope to get more accomplished next week....

The Motors are in.

Well the motors arrived and they look like a very compact package. They are less than an 1" in diameter. They are supposed to supply 300watts at 30amps on a 2C lipo swinging an 8.5x6 3 bladed prop....

Well, just got home from the Doc's they are doing knee replacement surgery on the 23th. It will hamper build on the trailer if it isn't done by then, but I hope to be able to continue plane builds.

Halt in construction

Building has halted for a short time. We are building 2 60+inch wingspan tail dragging trainers to sharpen our flying skills for when we complete the B17 should be back to it next weekend.
