BNF planes come with a receiver....and they're all PZ with Spektrum receivers so will work.
ARF and RR (receiver ready) planes don't come with a receiver so you'll need to buy your own, either Spektrum or a Spektrum compatible one....there are quite a few different ones but it HAS to be Spektrum DSM2 compatible. You can't use any old receiver.
RTF planes come with receiver and transmitter so they're not what you're interested in.
