This motor weighs in at about two ounces, that would be 300 watts divided by two ounces or 150 watts per ounce of motor weight. IMHO, any motor running over 100 watts per ounce of motor weight might be pushing it a little.

I ran the motor numbers through www.motocalc.com (Free for 30 days, the $39.00). The motocalc result is running this motor at even 200 watts on three cells will likely burn it up. Predicted efficiency is only around 50% so one half of the battery energy is just making the motor hot.

Motocalc suggests that the maximum power this motor is rated for is something like 150 watts or so, which is about where this motor will run with the recommended 8-4 prop.
