Default Landing gear for my powered glider

I'm only into my second week of the hobby (this time around http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67451 ) and here I am making some modifications to my Cox Sky Cruiser RTF plane

Two goals: First, it would be fun to be able to do touch & go landings; can't do that with no landing gear. Second, I want to put a key fob camera on the thing. I've already done it with a somewhat bigger camera mounted on top in front of the motor, but I think it made the thing top heavy & so hard to fly. I've ordered a different camera that will work mounted below the fuselage (wood mock up in the picture), and landing gear will keep it from being chewed up on landing.

So here we are so far:

The wheels have a 6061 aluminum hub with a ~1/16" styrene disk glued on. It's nice to have a lathe . The "tires" are drawn on with a Sharpie marker. 2 5/8" diameter, which I'm hoping will roll well enough on the drought stricken grass in the park I'm flying in. The plan is to make a detachable foam pod that mounts the landing gear and the camera with velcro to the bottom of the plane.

More as things progress!
