The rx itself isn't the cause of brownouts, if that's what you're concerned about. It's too weak of a power supply to the rx. In this case, all these planes supply that from a BEC built into the ESC, which in the case of the FMS bird seems to be overwhelmed with too many servos from the reports I've heard, and the one I saw. The 4 regular control surface servos, 2 more for flaps, 3 gear, at least 2 for gear doors, then I think 4 for the cowl flaps. 16 servos!
I can't speak for the range of that rx, never used one.
