After making the switch to electric power I quickly decided that my .40 trainer needed to be electric too. With the conversion complete I run the motor up for a test... at roughly 3/4 throttle the engine makes a nasty noise and stops. If I bring the power down I am able to start the motor again. Here is my setup.
- Rimfire .32 motor
- Turnigy AE-80A ESC
- Zippy 5000mah 4s Battery
- Swinging a 12x6 prop
I have tried just about everything I can think of.
- Multiple prop sizes (down to 10x6)
- Changing the timing to all settings
- Voltage cutoff settings
- Break settings
- a 2200mah 3s battery
The only major difference that I can see from changing these things is in the timing. Higher gives me a touch more power before it quits.
I have a youtube video of my motor going through a run up that I will post if that will help.
Any info or advise would be awesome!
Thank you in advance!
