Default Who's got Flying Weather?

I had flying weather this mourning so i decided to fly my Christen Eagle.
I put her up above the trees about 60 or 70 ft. and while circling the field a big bird of some kind darted right up to the plane and gave it a quick look and then darted away just as fast. Well anyway i had 2 nice lazy flights with her and 2 not so good landings.
So who else had flying weather this mourning?

Pretty good flying conditions...slight breeze and 70ish......just got back from an hour of Slow Stick gliding...........went flying in a canyon near here with a buddy. It's at the end of a south facing slope that's about 150' vertical.........the temps at this elevation (3,132) sure do deviate from 20' off the ground to 100', in the afternoon......you can catch a thermo in this canyon for about 350' horiz., then shoot straight up and out for another 500'.......it gets tricky bringing her back against the lift. Takes lots of power and reverse brain/thumbs since she's nose in towards me back to the dirt road where we launch..........Would have gotten out earlier but the lawn, car, wife and the dogs all needed attention first....my priorities need to be re-aligned......lol

Monday started this week's trend, and it is expected to be carbon-copies thru Saturday at least; High in the mid 80's, mostly sunny, (hardly any clouds, in fact), with mostly easterly winds 5-10mph. For what more could anyone ask? Can't wait to go flying tonight!

Anyone need some water? We had tornado warnings and sirens going off Sunday evening along with a gentle shower that dropped almost 11" of rain in 24 hours. Monday, Sun came out for 1 hour then more rain. Yesterday, 2 1/4" more rain in 3 hours. We have had over 16" of rain this month and almost 13" of it was in the past 48 hours. Needless to say there is nothing dry here. Lots of flooding, highways closed, bridges out and mud everywhere. I've never had water under my house but spent all afternoon yesterday pumping 6" of water from my crawl space. Flying? What is this you speak of?

Yesterday was awesome. I hit the field at about 7:30 AM and flew two battery packs. Partly sunny, upper 60's, light breezes to about 4mph max.

I love mornings like that.

That kind of morning just gets the day started on the right foot, Don't you think?

Well we did not get to fly but me and my son did get a lot of work done on his 74 Beetle project. managed to get out all 6 windows without breaking any of them as well as the headliner with no tears. Body is just about ready to take off the pan as well. Should have the new donor body ready to ship off for paint soon.

Now if we can just find that elusive front left fender...

Cool always good here in Florida

Great to be retired in Florida.

We fly every day as the rain only lasts an hour when it comes.

Maybe you should be grateful that at least you aren't getting hit by the bucket, too?

PLEASE! if you have any connections with the weather service, have them sent it our way! Theyre talking about water rationing here.

Hey flywheel,
You're right. Alabama too... The best that I hear right now is a 40% chance on tuesday for the Huntsville area. We hope so, for your area too.

Today was windy earlier. I got 7 - 11 on my wind gauge. This evening at dusk it was better. Just couldn't see...... Talk with you soon..

Ahh.....the eternal optimist! You're probably right Kev. Actually it is sunny right now. We'll see how long it lasts. I think it will be just enough to get the humidity up to 250% and help all the mosquito larvae hatch faster.
