Default Exceed RC Optima Brushless Ducted Fan 70mm EDF Motor 2700KV

do anybody know what the max cell rate for this motor is it a 4s only or can I run a 5s or 6s with it http://www.hobbypartz.com/75m96-ducted-2220-2700.html

The chart on that link shows 32Amp rating, (assume that's max continuous).

As long as you don't exceed that, (by much), then you could also increase the voltage.

BUT, you would have to run a smaller fan/prop. the 'load', for each extra cell you add, to keep within that rating.

Adding more cells is roughly the same as just putting on a much too big prop, the current will go up and probably the magic smoke will escape.

Watts = volts x amps. Increase the volts for the same 'load', and the current goes up. More volts x more amps = more watts, more watts = more heat = more problems.

ohh so basically if im using a 13x6.5 on a 3s 3200mah 40amp esc and i want to switch over to 4s i can not use the same prop because it will draw more power?
