Default Happy Memorial Day

Ramunger,

Memorial Day is not a day to picnic, bar b que or go to the malls to bargin shop. Memorial Day is a day we reflect upon the lives our our Fallen Heroes, both men and women who have died fighting so that we in America and around the world can be free. So you can forget what Memorial is all about. Memorial Day had its begining as Decoration Day. A day when families and friends went to the grave sites of the fallen and placed flowers on the graves. This tradition began with the Cival War. Today the name for Decoration Day has been changed to MEMORIAL DAY. Honor our Fallen to day. Veterans Day is the day that we honor all the returning heroes who have fought to keep our great country free. Free so that people can go shoping, have picnics and bar b ques and go to the flying field to fly our models. "Lest we not forget our men and women of the military who keep this country free.

Thank you

Flashingred,

Thank you for your comments. It seems like the media is confused about Memorial Day and discuss it like it was Veterans Day or Armed Forces Day. Today, like every year I think often about my classmates who died in the Jungles of Vietnam and just now are starting to get the respect they were never shown then.

I feel your pain for your family member, special thanks for your son's or daughter's sacrifice.

Thanks for serving our country current and past members of the armed forces! It's a beautiful day in west Tennessee for reflecting on those who have fallen keeping our nation free.

Take care and thanks for posting at WattFlyer!!
