I need this motor for an Electric Scout. Like I said it is about 20 years old and I am just putting it together now. Motors have changed allot sense then I suppose so I am just trying to figure out how all this works. Also do the motors come with a speed controler or something? How do the motors hook to a servo? Sorry for all the questions but I am clueless about all this. Thanks |

A useful read: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1747756
It is suggested that you need 250-300W driving an 8x4.. probably ~1400Kv. This would do it easily on 3s: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...00Kv_550W.html Yes, you'll need a brushless 30A+ ESC with built-in BEC... servos plug into the Rx in the appropriate slots (usually Channel 1 and 2 for 3-channel aircraft). The ESC (connected between the pack and the motor) plugs into the throttle channel (usually Channel 3). |

Do not Judge, or you too will be Judged. For in the same way you Judge others, you will be Judged, and with the same measure you use, it will be measured to You.

If you want more power, use a 480 Motor. if your going to be flying off grass or if you want to use floats.

A 3 cell 2200 mah lipo will work well, the esc plugs into the radio receiver as does the servos, if your going to be using a 2.4 radio, use a seperate UBEC to be on the safe side, if using 2.4, use a full range receiver and not a parkflier receiver. Take care and have fun, Chellie
