Default Love my Champ!

After a few outings at the local Rec center, i can say im very impressed with my new Hobby Zone Champ!! It has good power for a stock motor, which i will leave just the way it is, turns nice, and seems pretty tuff considering some of the HORRIBLE landings ive made with it so far! Loops pretty good too! A very nice little plane...i do have to say though that of the planes that i have aquired to this point, my favorite, most consistant, great handling plane i have is that crazy little Playmate! Its just an awesome model for the money! MAN! How this hobby has changed sinced i played with .20 and .40 sized nitro aircraft....some of the crashes ive had with these micro electric planes would have DESTROYED A NITRO plane! CRAZY!

I loved mine when I had it. I ended up giving it to my nephew in unscathed condition. I hope he takes care of it as well as I did. I used to go in late to work just so I could put 3 or 4 batteries through her at the local baseball park before anyone got there.

Even though I fly larger 4 ch. airplanes I still get my Champ out and fly it once or twice a month. Its relaxing and addictive. Fly it in a field with tall grass and its practically indestructible. I have it bound to my DX8 with a little expo and its totally a no brainer. When I miss flying in the winter and spring breaks the first plane to come out is the champ. It does better in the wind than most people give it credit for. Enjoy your Champ!

I couldnt agree with you more on how well the Champ handles the wind....VERY surprising! I have acquired several of these "micros" over time and can honestly say that my Champ and my Playmate are absolutely the most predictable, and consistent flying airplanes i have in my little air force!

I have a problem with mine drifting away in the wind Not enough power to go against it.

I fly mine in a 5 or 6 mph wind at the most. I you insist on higher winds fly circles and figure 8's right in front of you. Dont let her get too far away.

Give it full power and slight down elevator whe flying into the wind. It won't drift, but sort of just hover there. Great fun.

You can't loop the P-40 I loop my AS3X Spitfire with no problems. My problem with my AS3X Spit is that when I am flying her toward me and I want to execute a turn, it takes a second or two before the plane will respond.
