Default Brand NEW Yak bites the dust!

I picked up a NIB E-Flite UMX Yak 54 just before Christmas as a back up for the used one i got from E-bay awhile ago....Welp, unfortunatly sometimes new is just a condition, as in about a minute and a half into the flight, after a thorough preflight, flying straight and level, all controls went South, and the Yak went in hard, with MUCH damage! I took the plane back to the table and checked the radio, and everything was functioning properly....EXCEPT the AS3X, which quit working completely! Needless to say, its boxed up and heading back to Horizon. This is the first time ive ever had a problem with a brand new E-Flite plane, and im sure Horizon will help me out, as ive had good dealings with them in the past! Oh well, guess there's a first time for EVERYTHING!

That stinks but it does happen. had an issu with a Radian Pro I got my son for Christmas a few years back. Horizon replaced it no questions asked.

They are great to deal with for sure.

Yep, these gyro systems are just one more thing that can go wrong

Hope the warranty claim goes smoothly.

That's good to hear... fingers crossed it doesn't happen again.

By the way.. when you said that only the AS3X stopped working. Does that mean that the servos still responded the stick movements like a normal plane, and only the AS3X auto stability wasn't working?

Is so why would that have caused the crash?

When i lost control of the plane, it instantly when into a violent roll, wouldnt come out with opposite stick....when i checked the radio after the crash, i was next to it, but i didnt think to range check it from a distance, so there may have been more problems than just the AS3X not working....i fly a polecat, Sukhoi SU-26, and other fairly aerobatic planes without ASA3X without a problem unless the wind picks up....but i am capable of CRASHING just about ANYTHING!
