Default Poor mans Hobbie Hawk

Just ordered my new sailplane for 2014. I can't seem to get the urge to build anymore. So I bought what I call a poor mans Hobbie Hawk. I think the Radian is just what the doctor ordered. I am 70 and this ready to fly solves most of my problems other than incontinence. Will let you know what I think of it next week. Is there a sailplane contest anywhere in the U.S. for foam sailplanes only? There seems to be thousands of them sold, what a great idea. The Radian flown by the right contestant has proven already it can do the job. How about a contest Parkzone.

I haven't heard of a foam only contest, but a well flown Radian is a definite threat at an ALES contest. During one year the national champ for several months, was a Radian.

After a few flights, try moving your CG a little back. The factory advised CG point has proven to be a little nose heavy. There must be 15 Radians in a local club, here in Olympia WA.
