Default APM 2.6 setup?

Planning to get APM 2.6 w/ GPS for my quad.
Found this APM/gps combo: http://www.goodluckbuy.com/apm2-6-ar...lticopter.html

Is there anything else I need to config and install on my F450 quad?
Thank you.

Here's a couple of links that discuss the AMP 2.6 set-up for the (GPS).....the compass issue is (was) a common problem with this model....make sure you have downloaded all the latest firmware for both the AMP/GP/stability controll board:

You'll need to get very familar with the mission flight planner software.

Leadpan you will need a large bucket of patience and alot of time. It is awesome when it is tuned and programmed. You will have to read a lot to get it to do everything possible. The more channels you have on your radio the more in-flight tuning you can do. Be Extra safe as one incorrect parameter in a flight mode will create a white knuckle, knee knocking few seconds.
It took a few days of take off wobble land adjust for me to get reasonable flight. Still working the flight modes out. Stabilize is your friend.
Be extra safe. It is autonomous (scary music plays) but very cool.

GPS usually will not acquire a 3D fix when inside.
Let us know how you are doing.

Thanks for advice!
Due to negative reviews for goodluckbuy; I'll get my APM2.6 from here.

Flubber, is there anything else I should get with this?
Like power cables, or miniOSD?

The 3DR telemetry radio is awesome. The adapter that allows you to monitor battery voltage and an extra set of connectors. I get a lot of stuff here
http://witespyquad.gostorego.com/fli...flyer-2-6.html
If you order from them just be patient as they seem really busy.

I use a UBec for all of my quads to power the radio and the controller. They have a dome to mount the gps above the controller. Like your cd case

I just installed the Multiwii pro 2.0 board with the house gps and it acquires lock faster than all the other units.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Wow, that site has lots of cool stuff for cheap!
A RTF GoPro gimbal for $75?
I wonder if their ReadytoFlyer 2.6 combo is really a APM 2.6 and GPS combo for $55?

I was thinking of getting this package cause the GPS and APM2.6 are in protective cases.

That price is for the controller only. Scroll down and you will see all the options. With all the fancy stuff added it was still a better deal that the site you showed. Please check out the multiwii pro 2.0 with gps. It is a great price and it is preprogramed. Mine flew right out of the box. The gimbal is very good for the price. My videos are now rock stable.
