Default Hobbywing flyfun wires a,b&c

I have a DETRUM BM720A-KV500 motor with two input wires, can I use a HOBBYWING FLYFUN 40A speed controller with three wires A,B&C. If so how do I wire it.

Thanks for any help.

The motor is missing a lead. It should have three wires.

It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

Either you have a brushed motor and brushless ESC or the motor is missing a wire.

Dummy me, the ESC and motor both have three wires, must be a bad ESC. I have a Flyfun 40A with wires labeled A-B-C. the old ESC has orange-blue-black wires. I guess I'll mate them by comparing the two with heat sink up.

Thanks for your help.

With brushless motors it's easy. Hook it up any way. If it runs backwards, swap any 2 connectors. Done.

Yep... color code between motor and ESC is meaningless. If it runs correctly by matching up the colors its just random luck. Many motors use all 3 black (which makes it a little more obvious that the motor doesn't care)
