I put it up at 10 different online forums and seeing that I can only put it up in our support forum areas due to advertising rules that's a real good start. Then we also sent out an e-mail to all of our registered members as well. When we do this special it's always a surprise so that's the advertising you'll get for it. Make sure you register as a member and you'll get the e-mail next time if you check your e-mails.

Do you guys advertise in the banner ads here? Thats what catches most attention. If you do and I missed that one than I def. need better glasses.

No as I said it's usually done as a spur of the moment deal. That doesn't allow time to put up a banner ad. Getting registered as a member is the a good idea.

Then again, doing things as a spur of the moment deal, usually means you didn't have time to think things through... It also doesn't give your customers time to respond. :o

I appreciate this "lesson learned" -- I will be sure to keep this in mind when I own my own hobby shop...

I disagree with your thinking. If your a member and you check your e-mail then it gives you plenty of time. Look this is done as a special offering we choose to do it spur of the moment so thought is put into it. If you miss out then sorry better luck next time.

I'm talking about people who have never heard of your store before. People who don't know anything about your mailing list. You gave THOSE people less than 24 hours to take advantage of your special.

It's not meant to bring new customers. It's a special promotion for our current customers hence the e-mail that goes out to our registered members. I just bring it to the forums to be nice. If you miss the deal as I said I'm sorry. The funny thing is your the only one that seems to be making a huge deals of it. Good luck with your hobby shop.

Just so I can understand your intent... Your special was, "a special promotion for our current customers"... You sent an e-mail out to your "registered members"...

So, why post your special in a public forum? Wouldn't your "registered members" get the e-mail? How many of your "registered members" do you think saw your post here, and didn't receive your e-mail?

Seriously, try to think things through a little better next time. I would have been happy to try one of your packs (as a NEW customer), but this marketing campaign has really rubbed me the wrong way...

To paraphrase a wise business quote, "It takes moments to lose an existing customer, but YEARS to gain a new customer."
