Well! I love trying to resuscitate an old thread!

I am flying my $5 Chuck-to-warmliner conversion a lot thesedays - I FINALLY got back to putting it on the workbench after 6+ months of it sitting in the corner.

Fuse was completely silked and reinforced with CF spar - All-Up weight is just over 27oz. Not unlimited vertical, but it gets up to altitude quickly. I have a mix I can toggle of ~15% down elevator when at WOT to counteract the slightly positive incidence of the airfoil (might need to fiddle with the thrust angles a bit to fix the 'decalage' - else it likes to loop over on itself when it gets to scooting.

Thermaling? Enh, not so much - one or two here and there. Probably just too much drag from the construction and my lack of experience.

All told though I love to break this one out at the very beginning of the day and at the calm points in between.
