That is a huge difference in out put with a different battery. This is the same type of battery that Jeff donated for the auction isn't it?
Better be on your toes when you put this plane up with the new battery shes going to haul butt! |

Oh yeah Gramps, you know it. It was losing the auction that made me contact Jeff directly about it and ask some direct questions. To be honest, I think its more than 30c. Ya know how some batteries say 20-30 and the 30 is just burst? I think these burst at 40c or more and are constant at 30c.
Promise less, deliver more. Thats been a lifelong motto of mine. When I take her up again, I'll prob be at 1/2 throttle where I was at 80% before. |

I had bought some cheap 4 cell batteries and tried them out I couldn't get the watts out of the motor I was thinking great over rated motor wrong over rated battery. Then I bought a better brand what a difference in power. Like you found almost double the watts amazing how a different battery can change everything.
Well glad to hear this I need another 4 cell I know where I will be getting it from Jeff. Your setup is much more amp hungry than mine, which is a 25 size motor. What do you think you will get for a flight time on the battery? |

I'll do a 3 minute turn and burn, then bring it back. After everything cools, I'll put it on the charge and see what I used. My guess is I will still stay with a 5~7 minute flight as usually thats all I can take at one time! This jet taught me how to really be a jet pilot. It flys very scale, not like a foamy jet does. I really have to stay way ahead of it, and remind myself to breathe.
The HET was originally built without landing gear, but I added a full set with steerable nosewheel so I could fly off of my home field which has NO grass to belly land a nice pretty jet like this one was 10 years ago! |

Thanks Nitro this will be plenty battery for my plane this is pulling 500 plus watts at WOT. So my flight times should run me 10 min. plus or minus depending how I am on the throttle.
To funny "have to remember to breath". I have done that myself suddenly realize i need to take a breath and a deep one at that.
