11.1V 3C 1800 Lipo Charge ?

Bought my Son a Blade 400 awhile back and the inal battery would not charge. Went back to the store and he had another one from the back room not new, this one runs only a few minutes if that and the B400 falls to the ground. My Son bought a new charger last night a> Dynamite Passport AC/DC Lipo 6S, my question is, when he started the charge the Balancing Cell1 & Cell2 lights started blinking and never stopped so he just unplugged it, does this mean that Cell1 & Cell2 won't charge or those two cells can't balance

I suggest you read the manual but the blinking process often means the battery pack is balancing.

I did read the manual it's on the screen in front of me now, and you're correct about the blinking lights means they're balancing...... but no where in the manual does it say anything concerning a "continuous" blinking & what that actually means. Nothing in there saying what this means if this happens or that happens type of troubleshooting answers.
I must assume that it won't balance if the lights never quite blinking.

In general blinking does mean balancing or excess charge being removed. The cells which have the lowest capacity fill up faster and the balancing keeps these at 4.2 per cell while the others catch up.

Depending on the capacity difference of the cells the amount of balancing power available and the health of the cells it can take from a few minutes to hours for all of the cells to become fully charged and balanced.

Limitimg the flight time(amount discharged) will prevent the inbalance from being as bad and they should charge and balance faster. A chareger which has a LCD display and shows each cell's voltage is a lot beter than flashing LEDs.

This is a 3 cell battery why are only 1 & 2 lighting green. You should have 1,2,3 lighting green. I would check the voltages of each cell on the balancing cable.

This charger is in lipo red light on and the red light for charging at 1A

As everydayflyer and the instruction manual indicated the cell voltages are gradually being equalized during the blinking. With a 3S you would only have one or two of the cell lights blinking during the balancing of the cell voltages.

Instruction manual ... “5. The corresponding green LED of unbalanced battery (C1..C6) will blink during charging. The charger is discharging[one or more of] the batteries[cells] to balance the[ir] voltage[s].”

The confusion here is in not knowing how long the blinking will continue which is due in large part to the lack of not knowing/seeing each cell’s readout voltage before, during and at full charge.

At the very least invest $15 in an E-flite Li-Po Cell Voltage Checker EFLA111 to get some idea before charging of the disparity between the three cells. Then with more experience you’ll get a pretty good idea how long you can expect the green light(s) to keep blinking until the voltages of the three cells are within reasonable proximity. You’ll also gain an understanding of whether or not one of the cells is so out-of-balance that it may be useless to try balancing and time to get a replacement Li-Po.

EDIT ... The voltage readouts may be off by say 0.05-0.20 volts with any of these cell checkers (CSRC,E-flite,dealextreme) but you really only need an approximate readout not scientific notation. Even though the voltage readouts are slightly off the voltage readout difference/disparity between each cell should/will be accurate.

I just bought a Cellpro Pro 8 charger. Many $$$$$, but but the "8" individually charges each cell to the proper maximum voltage. Also believe the other Cellpro lines charge the battery in the same manner.

As for my Pro 8, the voltage on each cell can be monitored during the charge process directly on the LCD display. I'm using it to charge my 12S2P A123 pack as a 6S4P, with a charging rate for all 4 cells in parallel of 20 amperes. Power to run the Cellpro unit is a pair of 120 Ampere Hour Deep cycle batteries in parallel.
