Help Weird constant beep noise when connecting the battery, esc, and motor to the receiver

I have a weird issue when connecting up the battery, esc, and motor to the rx and turn on my tx. There is a constant beep and when I turn on my tx, it doubles in speed. I have a video to show you.

While I don't know how to resolve your problem, I'm might help anyone else if you mentioned what brand tx/rcvr/esc, frequency maybe, etc?

tx=DX6i
rx=some cheapo orange thingy from hobby king that was working in another plane, so it's known to be working.
esc=some cheapo 25A that came with this plane off of hobby king

The ESC has some writing and says: 6v-12v or something. I'm using a 3s battery.

I cut off the ends off of the ESC and soldered on a XT60 connector to plug into my batteries. Could this be caused by a poor connection?

When I hookup my servo's they also make a pulsing noise.

Even if your throttle is in the 0 position, move the trim tab down.

This is basically your ESC saying "bad arm" - the ESC will only arm the throttle if it first sees it at %0.00. if yours happens to be at %0.01, this will happen.

In the same vein - make sure your throttle channel is not reversed in the DX6i's pogramming.

P.S. - having found this out the hard way - this is often an indication that you have bound the Rx with the throttle in some other position than ZERO, which means if you ever 'accidentally' turn off your Tx, the Rx will go to failsafe, which consists of some non-zero throttle position, and - if it does not injure you or someone else, will surely get your attention.

You know, I thought of that originally, but didn't actually try it. I went ahead and changed the subtrim on the throttle to "negative 26" or "down 26", whatever you call it, and it worked! Thanks!

I recommend you rebind that puppy though. Set your throttle trim (and sub trim) at 0, stick all the way down, and rebind.

That should do the trick, and put everythign where it ought to be.

Also - most of the hobbyking/turnigy/hobbywing ESC's allow you to quickly set your throttle range so it is smooth from top to bottom:

Plug in your battery (this is AFTER the initial bind, make sure you have the bind plug OUT) and put the stick at 100%. ESC will beep a few times. Then bring your stick to 0. It will beep again, and then arm itself. Voila, your throttle range is set.

Thanks for your help and instruction on properly binding and setting the correct throttle range so that my throttles subtrim could be set to 0. I recorded a video for those of you who may stumble upon this.

The video got cut off in the beginning, but it still covers everything you need to know. I will also provide step by step instructions in writing.

1.) Plug ESC plug into the rx
2.) Plug the bind plug into the rx
3.) Plug the battery into the ESC
4.) Bind tx to the rx like normal and make sure your throttle is all the way down! (hold trainer switch on as you power on the tx and then let go after about 3-5 seconds)
5.) Turn off the tx
6.) Unplug the battery from the ESC
7.) Unplug the bind plug
8.) Plug in the battery
9.) put your tx's throttle at 100% aka all the way up
10.) power on your tx and let it sit there for 3-5 seconds until it connects to the rx.
11.) while the tx is still powered on, drop your throttle all the way down.
12.) enjoy a balanced throttle range!

Set throttle range and set subtrim to 0.
