Bob,
Try taking the suspect ESC and placing it on a wooden cutting board; place it in the oven @ 200 deg F for 40 min.
This will boil off the water and the circuits should start to work properly again.
I perform the aforementioned steps on ESCs and servos… Never had issue getting them to work properly.
The above steps only apply to components that are not physically burned up
You will sort it out

Cheers,
Dave

After all the work going into the model creation I finally did the maiden today after 2 failed tries. I had to install beefier motors and it was all run off without a hitch. I can say it is complete now.

Nice job neons she leaped of the water and i could tell it surprized you. lol she flew great and has no need for any more power. Now you can hit some water funflys with her now. The next time for me is labor day at a funfly around 30 miles from my home . joe

Hi Joe,
You are right about the surprise liftoff. I set the flaps for low angle and must have tripped it for full flaps. It jumped up at a short planing on the water. After the steep climb I caught it and switched them to retract and the plane leveled off. After that is was a pretty general flight. I do not know if you caught it but most laps were flying around 1/4 throttle at a cruise. You could just about hear the engines. The very last lap I gave it full throttle and you could hear the louder roar of these motors. The plane was going pretty fast on that lap. Plenty of reserve power there.
Thanks,
**Neons** Bob

Congratulations, Neons! Great job on that flying boat. I've enjoyed watching the build. She is a beauty!

All of my landings are three point landings if you count the spinner, too

I posted a series of still pictures here from the flight
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...&postcount=207

Here is a short compiled video from 2 flights I did at the 3rd Annual John Nicolaci FloatFly on October 22, 2011. I built Emily for this event last April -June. It was a hit at the Event. There is also a 3 part video of the Floatfly I put together in YouTube here..

i think you all may enjoy the flight.

Hi Joe,
Thanks. You are right. The flying season is closing and I will be getting into the new building season. I flew last Saturday and may squeeze another day next weekend also. I have Emily getting refinished from a rash of defects and I guess it is done for this year. I have a magazine that is interested in doing a feature article on her also. They find the way I built it unique. I will not say which it is yet, but it is a very popular electric plane mag. It is only in the early stages of getting the material together to publish it.

Default Martin Mars XPB2M- Built 2012 and Flown Sept.7, 2013

Finally got the plane up this year. Flew like a puppy.

The Video

Martin XPB2M-1 Mars 1943- Scratchbuild
Last year 4- 2011 I scratchbuilt the Kawanishi H8K2 Japanese "Emily". It was a 3 month project with plenty of interest. (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1417974)

Last year, 2-2012, I started the new build of the early version of the Martin Mars that had the twin rudder. I based the model on Ivan Pettigrews plans, along with researched photos, and drawings.

Thank you Xmech and Chellie.
I guess you both like beautiful things in life. But Chellie is my Watt Flyer sweetheart. I am to old to run away from home chasing the Amelia E. of the threads. A pioneer model aircraft pilot in her own right. Just do not fly far on an adventure. Chellie you are such a teaser that makes our hearts fly away........
Cheers,

Beautiful job on the Mars.
I might have to go to one of the seaplane events just to see it fly.

Thank You Paul
Our water event is over now but we may get a day here or there to do some flying at Mary's Pond. Those just pop up though. I am entertaining a visit to Charles River Float meet Sept. 27 in Wayland, MA. Nothing in written in stone though. I am trying to get a video put together now from the 5th Annual Nicolaci Float Fly if I receive them sometime.

OK Paul,
I have to research more to find out exactly what they have scheduled, procedures, and directions. I also need to make sure I have no conflicts at home with family events. If I do go I will PM you also.
Thanks
