I had a few problems with the binding process so took off the "body" to check connections, duly sorted. Body still off I put it in a hover about 15yards away around 25 feet up. The wind (merely a breeze really) pushed it away from me, I tried to recover it and lost orientation so I decided the best thing was to cut the throttle and land it in the grass. That would have been fine but it cleared the mown strip before landing.... in a field of 3ft high very green corn! ![]() Being an old golfer I took note of the line it went in and walked directly to the spot where the mown area met the corn, placed my TX on the ground and walked into the corn expecting to walk straight to it resting on top of the dense foileage. After 2 hours of searching I gave up. I made a note of a large Dock plant 7 paces to the right of my TX position for future reference. I returned to the cornfield last night with help. ![]() We searched for another whole hour in an area 5yds each side of my line and from the edge of the mown strip to 15yds into the corn - still no sign of the little bugger. ![]() Guess I'll keep looking. Also on Monday five minutes after failing to find the MQX I decided to fly my Dogfighter Correx SPAD with a wing camera attached. I'd spent so much time looking for the little quadcopter that the light was slipping away.... I should have known better! After 10 minutes flying I was approaching the field to land, banking hard and left at around 40 mph right up until I piled the SPAD straight into a large tree. I've flown at this field many times and NEVER as much as sniffed that tree before!I recovered the plane from a lowish branch with no major damage (correx is indestructible thank goodness), but guess what - I lost the cam and a brand new GB SD card. The moral of this tale is, don't fly your MQX outdoors unless your confident and experienced with it! And when your on a roll...... PACK UP AND GO HOME! ![]() PS. Once bitten as they say..... I just bought 3 lost model beepers for my better airplanes and a roll of fluorescent ribbon to tie to things like cameras in future! That F g corn is only going to get taller....
