Default 3s lipo in GWS Pico Cub CG Question

Hey guys, preliminary CG checking of my GWS pico cub with a 3s lipo has me putting the battery about half way over the "bulkhead" over the trailing edge of the wing. Is this right? also the 50-60mm from the leading edge has the cg about an inch from the TRAILING edge. Is this right? Seems to be a little far, but that's why i am asking. Noob here seeking guidance!

Thanks

No, that sounds very wrong. Cubs usually balance around 30% of the wing chord back from the LE.

Hang on a minute... the Peco Cub has a wing chord of approx 165mm. 60mm back from the LE should be 105mm from the TE.. That about 4" from the TE in old money.

Maybe you have your mm to inch conversion screwed up? 60mm = 2 3/8"

That makes more sense. It was late and I may have used the inch side of the ruler instead of the centimeter side. Where is the "embarrassed and completely ashamed of myself and how stupid a mistake that was" emoticon? lol.

Do I get partial credit for seeing that and realizing it could not have been right??

Thanks guys, I will certainly use the metric system when I get home today from work!

Just glad it was a screw up as in "Why does this look wrong? Instead of "Why did this crash?"

Thanks to both you guys!

BTW Lawdog:

If you are useing the 3S lipo and the old stock IPS-A Brushed gear drive system, be sure to change the prop to a GWS EP7X6!!!! The brushed motor will go up in smoke very fast on 3S with a 9X7 or 10X4.7. They do last as long as normal with the 7X6. I use the stock gear box with a little 12mm Fiegoa (SP) brushless on mine....Sweet little calm air park flyer!!!

Good Luck

Thanks, that motor is still in the baggie it came in, thanks. Already had an outrunner supplied by another plane that was thankfully an "organ donor"! Bit thanks for the heads up! I'll take any help or advice or criticisms any of you guys have!!
