I just got my stryker a couple days ago and love it but i want it to be a little faster. I was hoping i could get a round 100 without having to add a lot of weight and money without lossing a lot of flight time. anybody know a good combo for this or is it even possible to get all of the above at the same time?
browse thru this thread and a thread named stryker how far can i take it? in there you should find a bunch of motor, prop, batt combos that are fast yet pretty cheap, most are hobby king motors that are between $15 and $40 each.
Hope to see much better vertical and flat out speed with this motor and a 6x4 prop.
Hi Old Tinman use a 3648 turnigy motor, the strykers have a lot of drag to them, so you need a strong motor to give them a big push, use a 7x6 apc prop too, they need lots of thrust to get going, Take care and have fun, Chellie
If its the f27c I just out a 4cell battery In it and used this 4 a year it was pulling around 600watts on standard prop but motor was fine just needed a bigger esc so was running a castle creations 45amp and was running around 100mph easy enough
Strykers don't need to have a lot of drag. If you're not afraid to do some cutting, and modding, you can take most of the drag away. Here is my Stryker C mod. I cut the wings from the fuselage and cut 2" from each wingtip. I then joined the wings back together, cut an electronics bay, fabricated a new canopy, and glassed it. With 4s and a Mega 16/15/4 and 6x4 sport prop, I get consistant 125mph readings with both doppler and radar. I've bought 2 of these motors, both of them used from the classifieds on RCG for $50 or less.
